Changelog
What changed in each version of Meowdoro, and of the helper for agents on other machines. They have their own version numbers. Newest first.
Meowdoro 0.1.16October 25, 2026
- Round dots add up. The dots now count toward the long break. Rounds you've done are filled. The current one is a ring while its focus runs and fills in during its break. The rest stay grey.
- Overtime keeps the picture of the phase you're sitting over. Say a break runs out while the Mac sleeps and the focus waits for Start: the mug stays beside the notch while +3:12 counts, not the cat at its laptop. VoiceOver says the same. ▶ still starts the next phase.
- A shorter right-click menu: Statistics and Settings, About and Check for Updates, Quit. Start Over from Round 1 and Show Agents During Focus are gone: ⏮ and the agents switch are one click away in the island.
- Meowdoro never edits your agents' settings: its plugin is installed, updated and removed only with Claude Code's and Codex's own commands. Connect no longer cleans up hooks that test builds before 0.1.6 wrote into
~/.claude/settings.jsonor~/.codex/hooks.json; if you ran one of those, delete the lines that callmeowdoro-hookthere, or each event shows up twice.
Meowdoro 0.1.15October 25, 2026
- A simpler card when a phase ends. The cat shows what happened. One wide button says what's next and for how long: "▶ Break 05:00", "▶ Resume 12:14". Under it there's a line only when there's something to say: your agents as colored dots with counts, or the sessions to /compact. The button stands in the same place on every card.
- A tidier timer row. ⏮ ⏭ ↺ share one plate. Statistics and settings are grey icons that light up under the pointer. The row is shorter, so a named focus shows twice as much of its name.
- Resume, not Start, wherever a paused focus goes on: the time carries on from where it stopped.
- Settings, regrouped. How the notch looks has its own section, In the notch, and what the island shows of your agents is apart from connecting them. Every number sits on the right, beside its stepper; minutes no longer have a slider that repeated the stepper.
- VoiceOver reads the island: the icon buttons, the mini cat (it says the phase), the time however it's drawn, the badge, and each agent row, with the status its dot shows only in color.
- Sessions that send nothing are dimmed like read ones, so the agents that really wait stand out.
- Statistics: the chart has a title, and breaks in the journal are quieter.
- The icon sets are called Cat and Laptop & Mug instead of v1 and v2.
- The island folds up as soon as its spring settles, not after a fixed delay.
Meowdoro 0.1.14October 24, 2026
- Sessions Claude Desktop starts without a project are called "scratch" in the island, not by their folder's long name ("scratch-2026-10-14-9a9a18").
- A project name longer than 10 characters is cut short ("bot-short…"), so the session's name has room; the full one is in the tooltip.
- On lines too long for the island, the machine's tag sits in the same place in every row.
Meowdoro 0.1.13October 24, 2026
- Meowdoro updates itself. Once a day it looks for a newer version. When there is one, the island says so, and Install shows what's new, installs it and restarts Meowdoro. Updates are signed, and Meowdoro installs only ones signed with its own key. Settings → Check for updates automatically turns the daily look off; Check Now, or Check for Updates in the island's right-click menu, looks right away. This version itself needs installing by hand, like before.
- A remote machine's helper out of date says so in the island too, not only in Settings: "Helper on devbox is out of date". Later hides it until a newer helper comes out; an update of the app alone doesn't bring it back.
Meowdoro 0.1.12October 24, 2026
- Sessions that send nothing show up in grey. Claude Code loads plugins when a session starts, so a session that was already open when you connected it sends nothing. The island now lists those by name, after the others, with what to do: type
/reload-pluginsin it, or restart it. Remote machines' too, with helper 0.6.2 there. - Codex is grouped by account. This Mac and the machines where Codex is signed in to the same ChatGPT account share one group, with that account's limits; another account gets a group of its own, with its limits. With more than one, each says whose it is by the login's email, masked:
gl…@gmail.com. Claude stays one group. Remote machines need helper 0.6.2. - Claude Code too old for the plugin says so. Claude Code before 2.1.89 skips all of Meowdoro's hooks without a word. Its tile in Settings now says "Update needed", and so does the island. Connect installs the plugin anyway, so once you update, new sessions show up by themselves.
- One line per session. The session's name sits where its status was, unless the agent needs something (a question, a permission, an error): then that. The dot's color tells working from finished; the tooltip says it in words. Settings → Agents → One line per session turns the two-line rows back on.
- Plan limits as one small pie by the fullest window, orange from 80% or when it would run out before its reset, with "→ out 13:27" beside it then. Every window is in the tooltip.
- New pictures beside the notch: the cat behind its laptop, and an orange mug on a break. Settings → Timer → Icons brings back the old ones (v1).
- The "Welcome back" card after an auto-pause waits until you've unlocked the Mac. Waking from sleep, it could show under the lock screen and be gone by the time you were in; so could the card for a phase that ended while you were away.
- A session stays in the island through /compact. Claude Code starts the session again after compacting, and Meowdoro took that for a new session with nothing to show: it vanished until your next message, or, compacting by itself mid-turn, until its next step.
Helper 0.6.2October 24, 2026
- Claude Code sessions that were open before the plugin are named at setup, and your Mac lists them in grey until you type
/reload-pluginsin them or restart them. Needs Meowdoro 0.1.12; an older one ignores them. - The plugin goes into Claude Code of any version with plugins (before, only 2.1.292 or newer). Claude Code before 2.1.89 can't run its hooks: setup says so, and your Mac shows "Update needed". After the update, new sessions show up by themselves; no need to run the line again.
- Tells your Mac which ChatGPT account Codex uses here: a fingerprint (a hash) and the email masked to its first two letters and domain (
gl…@gmail.com); the full address never leaves. Machines on the same account share a group and its limits there. - After /compact, a reply you read on this machine still shows as read on your Mac, and a question it ended on still shows as waiting. The helper forgot the finished reply when Claude Code started the session again after compacting.
Meowdoro 0.1.11October 23, 2026
- A question in Claude Desktop's next-step box (the Code tab's sessions) shows as waiting too: those sessions get no turn summary, which is all 0.1.10 looked at. On remote machines this needs helper 0.6.1.
- Read sessions are dimmed less, so they stay easy to read.
Helper 0.6.1October 23, 2026
- A question in Claude Desktop's next-step box (the Code tab's sessions) now shows as waiting on your Mac too. Those sessions get no turn summary, which is all 0.6.0 looked at.
- Once you trust Codex's hooks, the Mac stops asking within a minute (it was up to ten), or at Codex's next event.
Meowdoro 0.1.10October 23, 2026
- Agents grouped by agent: Claude, then Codex. A session on another machine carries the machine's name after its status, instead of a group per machine.
- Read sessions dim: a finished or failed session you've seen — clicked, in the list you opened, or read in Claude Desktop or ChatGPT on this Mac — dims, stops counting on the badge, and leaves the list 15 minutes later.
- Questions wait: when Claude Desktop marks a session with a yellow dot (its turn ended on a question for you, not a permission prompt), the island shows it as waiting, with the question, until you answer.
- Settings → Remote agents shows each machine's Claude Code and Codex: connected, waiting for you to trust Codex's hooks, or not there; and says when a machine's helper is out of date. Needs helper 0.6.0 there.
- An agent's header shows this Mac's plan limits only: a remote machine may run on another account.
Helper 0.6.0October 23, 2026
- A finished session you read on this machine — opened in Claude Desktop after the reply, or opened in ChatGPT — tells your Mac, and the island shows it as read (dimmed) there too. Needs a Meowdoro that knows read sessions; older ones ignore it.
- Tells your Mac which agents have its plugin: Settings → Remote agents shows the Claude Code and Codex tiles under each machine (connected, found without the plugin, or not found).
- Checks whether Codex there still waits for you to trust its hooks (/hooks): the Codex tile turns orange, and the island says so.
- A session Claude Desktop shows with a yellow dot — the turn ended on a question for you — shows as waiting in the island too, with the question.
- An agent installed on the machine later gets the plugin by itself; one you switched off stays off.
Meowdoro 0.1.9October 22, 2026
- Auto-pause says so: when a focus pauses by itself, the island slides out a card with why, and a cat in a headset for a call or asleep on its laptop when you're away. When you're back or the call is over, the same cat offers Start.
- Do Not Disturb turns off on a Mac in any language. The shortcut named "Do Not Disturb" in English, and Shortcuts looked it up by that name. If you added Meowdoro's shortcuts before, delete "Meowdoro Focus Off" in the Shortcuts app and add them again from Settings.
- Meowdoro looks for Claude Code and Codex in the same places as the helper for remote machines: one list for both.
Helper 0.5.1October 22, 2026
- Finds Claude Code and Codex that aren't on PATH: the copy Claude Desktop keeps of Claude Code, the codex inside ChatGPT (wherever the app is), and the usual install folders (
~/.local/bin, Homebrew, npm, Bun). Before, a Mac that runs them only from those apps got "not found" and no plugin. Run the line again to pick this up. - The places it looks are the same list Meowdoro on the Mac uses, built into the helper.
- Says hello right after setup: the Mac lists the machine in Settings → Remote agents at once, before any agent runs there, and the setup line tells you whether the relay could be reached.
Meowdoro 0.1.8October 22, 2026
- Count down or up: Settings → Timer → Count. The digits, the ring and the bar show the time left or the time gone.
- Name your focus: click "Focus" in the island and type what it's for.
- Session journal in Statistics: every focus and break of the day, with its name and projects. Rename a focus, or delete a record entered by mistake.
- Projects, counted more simply: a focus with agents on screen counts in full for every project worked on during it, reading an agent's answer included. With agents hidden, it counts for none.
- Auto-pause (off by default): a focus pauses after 5 minutes without keyboard or mouse, or during a call (camera or microphone in use), with the time rewound to when it began.
- A fresh start after a night away: after 4 hours with nothing running, the timer starts over from the first round instead of counting hours of overtime.
- Agents on this Mac: a tile per agent with its mark and a green ring once connected. Meowdoro finds Claude Code and Codex by itself (Codex inside ChatGPT too, wherever the app is); "Connect all…" connects them in one go.
- Do Not Disturb during focus: "Add Do Not Disturb shortcuts" adds Meowdoro's two shortcuts in two clicks.
- The round dots stand in for the "round 1 of 4" text, and the island's "Today · …" line is gone: those numbers are in Statistics.
- A phase that has started keeps its length when you change the settings.
Helper 0.5.0October 22, 2026
- The helper's plugin is now called
meowdoro-remote, so it works next to Meowdoro's own plugin on a machine that runs Meowdoro too (a Mac VM, say): agents there show up both in that machine's island and on your Mac. Before, whichever was installed second didn't take, and the other Meowdoro's Settings could count the helper's plugin as its own. - Running the line again replaces the
meowdoro@meowdoroplugin older helpers installed. A plugin of that name that came from Meowdoro itself is left alone. meowdoro-remote uninstallremoves only the helper's plugin.- Codex asks you to trust the hooks again (
/hooks): they belong to a new plugin now. - Several Macs can watch the same machine. Run each Mac's line there: it adds that Mac instead of replacing the one before, and every event goes to each of them, sealed with its own key. Up to 8; one more drops the oldest.
meowdoro-remote listshows them,meowdoro-remote remove <number>stops sending to one.
Meowdoro 0.1.6October 21, 2026
The first public test version.
- Focus timer around the notch, with the cat: focus and break rounds, overtime after a phase ends, a warning on the last minute, the next phase starting on its own if you want. The time in the notch as digits, a ring or a bar.
- Claude Code and Codex at a glance: which sessions are working, waiting for you or finished; a click opens the session. How full each session's context is, with a /compact hint at the start of a break. Codex's plan limits and when they'd run out at the current pace.
- Agents on other machines (a VM, a Linux server, another Mac) through the shared relay at relay.meowdoro.com, encrypted end to end: Settings → Remote agents.
- Statistics for the day, week and month, by project.
Helper 0.4.1October 21, 2026
The first public version of the helper for remote machines.
meowdoro-remote uninstallalso stops the running helper, so the machine leaves your Mac's list right away instead of within 10 minutes.
