Download Meowdoro
Your download has started. When it’s done, follow the four steps below: it takes a minute.
A focus timer around your MacBook’s notch. During focus it shows which Claude Code and Codex sessions are working, done or waiting for you; during a break it keeps them out of sight.

Looking for the Chrome extension? Meowdoro Tracker, our earlier pomodoro timer for Chrome, is still in the Chrome Web Store. Get the Chrome extension.
Install it in a minute
- Open the downloaded Meowdoro.dmg and drag Meowdoro onto the Applications folder. Both are right there in its window.
- Open Terminal: in Finder, Applications → Utilities → Terminal.
- Paste this line and press Return:
Terminal prints nothing: that means it worked. If it says “No such file”, do step 1 first.
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Meowdoro.app - Open Meowdoro from the Applications folder. A small black island appears beside the notch, or as a bar at the top of the screen on a Mac without one.
Why the Terminal step? This test version isn’t signed by Apple yet, so macOS refuses to open it. The command tells your Mac that you trust this one app and changes nothing else. Once Meowdoro is signed, this step goes away.
Connect your agents
Right-click the island and open Settings → Agents on this Mac. It finds Claude Code (in a terminal or Claude Desktop) and Codex (in a terminal or the ChatGPT app), and Connect sets each one up through the agent’s own plugin system, showing you the command it runs. Codex then asks you to trust the plugin’s hooks, in /hooks or in the ChatGPT app’s hook settings. Agents are optional: without them, Meowdoro is a pomodoro timer with a cat beside the notch.
Requirements
- macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. A notch is optional.
- Claude Code 2.1.89 or later for the plugin’s hooks, and Codex with plugin support.
- For agents on other machines: Python 3.8 or later and curl there (how remote agents work).
Updates
Meowdoro checks for a new version once a day and installs only updates signed with its own key. You don’t need to download it again. Every release is in the changelog.
Downloads come from GitHub. Before December 2026 Meowdoro is free; after that it will be a one-time purchase of $20 for one Mac (terms). More: every feature · guides · privacy.
